Greg Norman Estates Russian River Valley Chardonnay

Greg Norman Estates Russian River Valley Chardonnay

  • $ 1999

REGION

In only a few decades, Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley AVA has become one of the worlds most highly regarded areas to grow premium Chardonnay. The region’s diverse soils, sea fog influenced microclimates and warm sunny days produces wonderfully expressive fruit with concentrated flavors and high natural acidity.

WINEMAKING

The whole clusters were harvested in the early morning and were immediately pressed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The ferments took place at cool temperatures to preserve the Chardonnay aromatics and fresh flavor profile. The wine was then racked off its lees and a portion was transferred to seasoned French oak barrels where it matured until final blending and bottling. TASTING NOTES Intense aromas of ripe citrus and stone fruits are complemented by soft vanilla and cashew notes. The voluptuous palate reveals layers of sweet yellow fruit, crisp Gravenstein apple and meringue flavors that are balanced by a refreshing line of acidity through the long-lasting finish.
